About the Owner

Chef Steve Mitchell serves as Owner, Executive Chef, and hands-on operator of DFW Culinary Services. I am a Texas native with over 30 years of experience as a personal private chef, jet culinary services, restaurants, and hospitality industry. I was known for my masterful signature dishes and classic sauces infused with unique combinations of southwest spices, fresh herbs, and vegetables. I have created menus for many clients as well as for many Texas restaurants that are local and some that have gone national. I was born in Fort Worth, Texas, but grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas. After graduating from Wichita Falls High School, my career began in the hospitality industry when I moved back to Fort Worth after serving in the Marine Corps. I trained as an apprentice with a Culinary Institute of America graduate for four years. During this time, I honed my craft as Executive Chef for Lucile’s Stateside Bistro and H-3 Ranch in Fort Worth, Texas. With my experience in the restaurant, private club, and hospitality industry, I helped develop or owned over 15 different restaurants, resorts, clubs, bars, & hotels in the DFW area, from commercial centers to vacation resorts, both regional and national arenas.
